AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

We, the people of the Miracle Center of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, herein define our purpose and affirm our faith in God and in each other.

WE AFFIRM that the Miracle Center of Faith Missionary Baptist church is a spiritual body whose foundation is God and whose people are concerned with both spiritual and social issues which impact our lives.

WE AFFIRM our beliefs in the great doctrines of the church and the Bible as God's holy word; belief in the Triune god, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit; the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ, and the believer's resurrection made possible by the head of the Church.

WE AFFIRM the supremacy of the scriptures.  The Bible is our guide.  We are committed to the empowerment of our people through the study of God's word.  We seek to affirm the essence of the birthright of blackness and seek to develop our children to appreciate their rich ethnic, cultural and religious legacy through a consistent curriculum of study and learning.

WE AFFIRM our commitment to the spiritual development of our children and youth in body, mind and spirit.

WE AFFIRM our commitment to a lifetime of Christian stewardship that demands the sacrifice of all that we have.  Christian stewardship commences with the tithe which is ten percent of our gross income, our time and our talent.  As we develop and strengthen our faith and trust in God, we mature in our giving.  We affirm our intention to be responsible stewards of that which God has loaned to us and to use our resources to physically and spiritually feed those who are hungry, clothe those who are naked, liberate those who are imprisoned, and be that compassionate New Testament family which is always willing to respond to the cause of mission, both home and abroad.

WE AFFIRM that every opportunity for praise and worship will be one of exalting the Lord Jesus Christ, which will be reflected in our reading of the scripture, our proclamation of the word of God, the ordinances of the church (Holy Communion and Baptism), as well as in our hymns, gospels, spirituals and the meter of our fore parents.

WE AFFIRM that everybody is somebody in this body of Christ.  Each member must minister and each member must serve.  We are many in number, but ONE in the body of Christ.  May God give us the tenacity to meet the challenges and fulfill the ministries that are on the horizon.
